Pijaca Markale food market, near Baščaršija, is known for its fresh produce, and lively atmosphere. The market is technically outdoors, but it’s covered, so you’re safe even when it’s raining or snowing. It offers a wide variety of products, including seasonal fruits and vegetables. Products do not not have price tags, so as an expat, you might be charged slightly higher prices. There’s one lady at Markale that sometimes has coriander (cilantro) on offer – one of the few places in the city where you can find it!
