Trams
Sarajevo’s tram network includes six lines that all follow the same scenic route from Ilidža to Baščarsija, passing major streets like Džemala Bijedića, Maršala Tita, and Obala Kulina Bana. The trams also connect to the Sarajevo Railway Station.
You can buy tickets at newsstands or directly from the driver (cash only) for 2.20 KM. Multi-ride tickets (2, 5, or 10 rides) are also available. Don’t forget to validate your ticket—older trams have green machines near the first door, while on newer trams, the driver will rip the ticket for you. Keep your ticket handy, as inspections are common and the fine for not having a valid ticket is 50 KM in cash.
Once validated, your ticket is valid for a one one-way ride—you’ll need a new one if you get off and reboard.

Trolleybuses
Sarajevo’s trolleybus system runs along a main route that splits in two directions near the city center, so it’s important to know your final stop before boarding.
Ticket prices are the same as for trams: 2.20 at newsstands or in cash from the driver. Make sure to validate your ticket when boarding – it’s only valid for that specific ride.
Trolleybuses operate from 5:45 AM to 11:00 PM. While delays can happen due to traffic, trams generally experience fewer hold-ups. Notable stops include Otoka, Austrian Square, Jezero Maternity Hospital, and Koševo Stadium.
